Read a marketplace insurance request properly

Use the current request in your seller account as the starting document, rather than relying on remembered thresholds.

Match the seller and the insured entity

Check the legal business name, trading names and selling territories against the quote. Bring the marketplace’s current certificate instructions to the provider. Ask about additional-insured wording and product categories before assuming a standard certificate will be accepted.

A question to take with you

Does the proposed certificate meet the current account-specific request?

Describe the entire product chain

Explain whether you manufacture, import, distribute or sell private-label products. Include suppliers and every relevant product category. A supplier’s policy does not establish your own protection as a seller, and fulfilment services do not remove every product liability question.

A question to take with you

Are all products and countries of sale in the accepted description?

Make the next conversation useful

Bring the current documents and explain any changes. These details are a useful starting point:

  • Product list and supplier details
  • Sales split by country and marketplace
  • Annual revenue and forecast sales

Ask the provider to connect its answer to the actual policy or eligibility terms, including exclusions, dates and reporting conditions. Keep the confirmed answer with the offer.
